Indian Cow Shelter ( Gaushala )

Gaushala – Indian Cow Shelter

Pranav Urja aims to establish a comprehensive Gaushala (Indian cow shelter) to serve as a hub for practical knowledge on cow cultivation. This initiative invites individuals from across India who are either researching cows or are keen to explore the profound relationship between humans and cows.

Objectives of the Gaushala:

  1. Promoting a Cow-Based Economy:
    • Enhance physical and emotional well-being by leveraging cow-based products and practices.
    • Develop a self-sustainable model rooted in traditional wisdom and modern techniques.
  2. Education on Cow-Human Symbiosis:
    • Highlight the hidden life of cows and their profound impact on human lives.
    • Foster awareness of the symbiotic relationship between cows and their caretakers.

Gau Retreat (Cow Therapy)

To kickstart this initiative, we propose the establishment of a Gau Retreat on the premises of Silani Gaushala. This retreat will:

  • Feature a verdant forest populated with trees, herbs, shrubs, and bushes known for their medicinal and oxygen-producing qualities.
  • Serve as therapeutic grazing pastures for the cows, enhancing their well-being.

Traditional beliefs suggest that cows instinctively graze on plants that are medicinally beneficial to their caretakers. While modern skepticism exists, traditional Indian medicine has long acknowledged the therapeutic value of cow-based products. Cow-pathy, a natural healing domain involving cow urine and Panchagavya, is increasingly recognized for its medical benefits.

Existing Gaushalas

Pranav Urja currently runs two cow shelters:

  1. Tihar Jail No. 3, New Delhi:
    • This shelter provides holistic and therapeutic benefits to the inmates.
  2. Silani Gaushala, Village Silani, Sohana Palwal Road, Sohana, Haryana:
    • This Gaushala focuses on sustainable practices and community well-being.

Mental Well-Being:

    • Interacting with cows daily can reduce stress and blood pressure.
    • Cows symbolize the Universal Mother and are believed to bless their caretakers, promoting love, compassion, and spiritual fulfillment.

Medical Benefits:

    • Cow urine, ghee, curd, and dung are central to Ayurveda, offering remedies for various ailments.
    • Panchagavya medicines, prepared from cow products, are increasingly recognized for their therapeutic effects.

Economic Benefits:

    • Desi cow milk is rich in proteins and vitamins, with fats that align with human body temperatures.
    • Ghee, curd, and biogas production can provide additional economic value.
    • Products like dhoop, agarbattis, mosquito coils, and phenyl derived from cow products generate income, supporting the Gaushala’s growth.
